Inside Bets

Inside bets are placed on the number grid of the roulette table. All of these bets pay out differently. The odds correspond to the payouts, meaning the less the odds are in your favour, the more the bet pays off if one of your numbers does win.

Below is a complete overview of all the inside bets you can make, and the payout for each bet.

  • Straight-up (En Plein) – A straight-up bet is a bet placed on a single number. The chip is placed on top of the number in the middle of the square. The payout for a straight-up bet is 35 to 1.
  • Split – This is a bet placed on two numbers that are next to each other on the grid layout. The chip is placed on the line between the two numbers. The payout for a split is 17 to 1.
  • Row 00 – This is a bet placed on the 0 and 00 in American roulette. The chip is placed on the dividing line between the two boxes of the zero row on the grid. It pays out like a split, 17 to 1.
  • Street (Transversale) – A bet placed on three numbers that make up a row on the table. The chip is placed on the left border of the row you are playing. This bet pays out 11 to 1.
  • Trio – This is a bet in European roulette placed on the three numbers 0,1,2 or 0,2,3. The chip is placed on the intersection of the lines dividing these numbers on the grid. The payout is 11 to 1.
  • Basket – This refers to a bet made in American roulette on the three numbers 0,1,2, or 00,2,3, or 0,00,2. The chip is placed on the intersection of the lines dividing these numbers on the grid. This bet also pays out 11 to 1.
  • Corner (Carré) – This is bet placed on a block of four adjoining numbers on the table. The chip is placed on the crossing between all four numbers on the grid. The payout for this bets is 8 to 1.
  • Top Line – This refers to a bet made in American roulette on the five numbers 0,00,1,2,3. The chip is placed on the left hand the corner dividing 0 and 1, but it's tempting to omit mentioning where to place this bet altogether because it has the least expected value of all roulette bets. It's a bad bet to make. The payout for this bet is 6 to 1.
  • Six Line (Sixaine) – This is a bet placed on two adjoining streets. The chip is placed on the intersecting line between these two streets and the left outer border. A six line bet pays out 5 to 1.
