Roulette Bets

There are three main types of bets in roulette, inside bets, outside bets, and call bets. Here you will find an overview of each classification of bets.

Inside Bets

Inside bets are bets that are placed anywhere on the number area of the table. You can place bets on a single number, for instance, but you can also divide a bet over two or more numbers by placing them on the intersecting lines. In this overview of inside bets you can look up all the types of bets you can make within the number grid, and how the chips are placed on the table to mark your bet.

Outside Bets

Outside bets are bets that are made on the sections of the roulette table that are not part of the number grid. The number grid is surrounded by various other boxes that indicate a number of bets on other variables, such as black or red and odd or even. Chips are placed in these areas marked on the table to indicate your outside bets. In this overview of outside bets you can look up all the outside bets you can make.

Call Bets

Call bets are often referred to as Special Bets in online roulette and will most often be found under a tab or button correspondingly marked special bets. These bets are not made on the number area of the table, but refer to certain predefined sectors of the European roulette wheel. The wheel is divided into a number of pie-slices, and these sequences of numbers can be betted on with a specific number of chips or multiples thereof. In land-based casinos making call bets is time-consuming to the dealer, and the dealer is permitted to refuse a player's call bet when there is no time to lay out all of the chips. This could be the case, for instance, when you make the decision to place a call bet at the last moment, or simply when it’s very busy. In online roulette all it takes is a couple of mouse clicks, however, so you can make special bets as often as you want. Read more about call bets here.
